semi-hiatus and relationship meme

While threading at the airport and realizing just how many ongoing threads I have, I'm just leaving a general semi-hiatus note for the long weekend. I'm heading to Disneyland and other birthday shenanigans so I will be super slow until I return home on Monday afternoon. Thanks for bearing with me while I'm away!

And so this post has an actual point! Jade recently hit 3,000 comments and I've missed every relationship meme ever this summer and never did her first impressions meme, so RELATIONSHIP MEME for Jade! and any of my others if you prefer (Vanya, Jasper, Cinna). Expect slow replies over the weekend and be forewarned that I'll likely ask for reverse.

Jade's thoughts on Hunter!! And if you have time Vanya on Breeze but if not just the first one. |3

You get both since it took me forever to get back to this, sob.

Not much has changed with Vanya and Brianna? Vanya still considers Brianna one of her best friends in Camp and one of her Camp sisters, and I imagine Brianna is one of the people Vanya spends the most time with and since Vanya's moved off the Sunny randomly tracking Brianna down to just hang out or whatever has become even more common. Vanya likes Brianna a lot and thinks she's really cool and is still a little surprised Brianna hasn't gotten bored with her yet. Which brings us to the most recent development. Vanya's starting to freak out a little that Brianna is close to getting bored with her and that Brianna and Mindy make much better friends than Vanya does with either of them and Vanya should just stop trying and let them be friends without here. Except, she cares about them both a lot and doesn't want to lose either of them as friends, so she's trying to get over that and try new things to fit in with them (which is the whole reason she agreed to watch horror movies) but also contribute to the friendship in the way she knows how. It's all very complicated and Vanya isn't always aware of it and after the one time she brought it up going so poorly, she's not going to bring it up again.

As for Jade and Hunter, that's even more complicated. It was actually really awkward for Jade when they first got to Camp. Hunter was her classmate, not her friend and she was getting tired of explaining that to people, since it usually lead to questions about why she didn't know him that well if they went to the same school, etc. Jade never disliked Hunter, she even thought he was a generally nice person! She just didn't know him very well at all. And the reasons why she didn't know him are kind of awkward and embarrassing. Jade's slowly telling people more things that happened to her, but for a short time Hunter was the only one that knew she'd tried to drown herself back at school and since she hadn't explained why, she had her own feelings about what he really thought of her and none of them were good. Jade also had a very good idea that both of them could have chosen anyone from MGA to end up trapped in Camp with it would have been Casey, except for Jade, she also thought Hunter would be better off there with Casey. All that said, Hunter still helped save her life back at school and she was glad that she wasn't the only one there and he definitely helped her keep from completely freaking out those first few weeks.

Since then, it's been nice to actually get to know Hunter since being in Camp and find that they actually do have some things in common. She does consider him a friend now, not just her classmate. She also really appreciates Hunter's insistence on doing normal things like playing video games and watching movies since she tends to get caught up in her own issues and that helps bring her out of it. When people offer her assistance, she always tries to mention Hunter and get him help as well, since she does feel like she owes him for saving her life and as said before, he's her friend now and she can be fiercely loyal to her friends. It's still a pretty awkward friendship, but Jade's okay with that. She's pretty sure it's always going to be that way because of the circumstances of their friendship, but that they've managed to have a friendship at all is enough of a miracle in Jade's eyes that's fine and she's not about to push it.

... And that was a lot rambling, sorry! REVERSE, please.

I'm doing this from a school computer so if I post a comment that just randomly, abruptly ends... it means I got kicked out of the computer lab HA HA and I will finish when I get home.

ANYWAY.

Breeze and Vanya; Breeze still considers Vanya one of her best friends. She knows she gets snippy and sarcastic with Vanya a lot, and does feel kind of bad about it sometimes, but that's really... just how Breeze is, and she doesn't know how to stop being like that, and she also doesn't think coddling Vanya does her any good (and kind of wishes a lot of the adults in camp would stop doing it). BUT overall, she enjoys hanging out with Vanya and getting to play around with her and act more like a kid from time to time. Vanya is important because Breeze feels like she doesn't have to go out of her way to impress Vanya, like she does with most other people. She can admit more weakness to her than she can to others. And that's kind of nice.

As far as the Mindy thing, she was pretty shocked when Vanya started crying and saying that Breeze liked Mindy better because she honestly never thought about what their friendship looks like to Vanya. She... doesn't know what to do about it, because she doesn't want Vanya to feel bad, but she does like Mindy a lot and she gets to do things with Mindy that Vanya definitely won't do, like fight monsters and do death experiments. :I A lot of her conversations with Mindy include them both being like "but we won't tell Vanya because she'd freak." So it's not that Breeze likes Mindy more than Vanya, but just that Mindy is more of the same type of person as Breeze, so Breeze wants to hang with her a lot.

Basically, she doesn't want to rock the boat and cause drama between Vanya and Mindy, but the next time she and Vanya get in a fight she's probably going to end up blurting something about Mindy shooting her and ruin everything. /o\

Hunter and Jade; Hunter really didn't know what to think about Jade when they first got to Camp, because yeah, they weren't friends, and all he really knew of her was the whole drama with the detention/nurse's office. But he was definitely happy that it was Jade he was stuck with and not Zoe or Ike, so he decided to make an effort to get to know her better and maybe become friends. He's glad she's been agreeing to play video games and do movie nights, because he thinks she needs to open up a little more and stop dwelling on the stuff happening back at the Academy. He knows it's not easy, but he wants them to make the most of things while they're away from the school.

Pretty much he just wants to build up more trust between them so things can stop being awkward all the time, so while he's not normally the type of person to focus on all these shitty things that have happened to him, he is opening up more about his past and his family to Jade, because he wants her to know she's not alone. Like, he knows their circumstances are different, but they both come from kind of crappy home situations and they both have the thing with their moms, so! Jade was the first person he actually told about the clock thing, too, which is kind of big for him because... it sounds so crazy...

Anyway, he does like Jade a lot and he's actually really glad she's in Camp with him.

Ongoing impressions on Hanna from Jade? HE GOT A LITTLE BIT SERIOUS IN THE LAST THREAD so including that would be awesome!!

By getting to this over the weekend, I obviously meant over a week later. Sorry!

So Jade was pretty skeptical when she first met Hanna, mainly because Hunter and her were barely even friends and it seemed to her like Hunter was now tracking friends down for her or something and she didn't appreciate that. Except Hanna was really sincere and she really appreciated that he seemed so dedicated to helping them. And as pessimistic as Jade can be, Hanna's enthusiasm was contagious. She also really needed a project at the time, and was grateful to have something to do to keep her mind off of everything else. So she made him a very vague list, because she was still unsure how well he'd take some things. Her plan was to slowly tell him what she really thought was going on and get to the whole I think I am getting a message from God that I have to die months from now, but then truth stuff happened and she told him. Hanna actually took it better than she expected? She was pretty sure he wouldn't believe her and she's grateful he's still talking her and doesn't think she's completely insane. But yes, things will probably be awkward for a bit, but Jade really does trust and like Hanna and is going to try to find other things to talk to him about and try to bond with him more like Hunter has instead of just talking about her school, since that just makes her feel awkward right now and she doesn't want to lose Hanna as a potential friend.

REVERSE, if you feel like it!

Jade is of the opinion that Wendy is one of the coolest adults she's ever met and she's really thankful to have her around. Jade doesn't feel like a lot of people get her, but with Wendy she does. Jade relates to Wendy really well and feels like that could become a lot closer. It helps, that a lot of the things Wendy's found out about Jade's life/time at MGA/etc. Jade told her on her own terms instead of a forced Camp thing. Jade actually feels bad that there's so much stuff she hasn't told Wendy, but not bad enough to risk ruining a potential friendship over it. Jade doesn't trust Wendy enough yet to think she won't be convinced Jade's completely crazy if she knew the whole story. Jade has an older brother back home, who despite their relationship being pretty rocky lately, she's very close to, and Wendy's filling that role in Camp, in some ways. If Jade needed advice not related to MGA weirdness, Wendy would definitely be the first person she'd go to and she'd be one of the first even for the really weird stuff.

That was kind of rambly, sorry, but I hope it made general sense! And REVERSE?

Impressions/Relationship from Cinna?

I am sorry this took forever and ever!

Cinna is rather fond of Victor and he can't help but see the similarities between Victor's situation (and the rest of the X-kids if he met them) and Katniss' and the other tributes'. Cinna is aware that it's extremely different, but teenagers in life and death situations for entirely unjust reasons gets to him for obvious reasons.

But beyond all that, Cinna is just very fond of Victor. He thinks Victor is a generally a brave kid in an awful situation back home who's trying to deal with it and Cinna thinks he's doing a good job at it considering everything. Cinna genuinely enjoys the time he spends with Victor! He appreciates Victor's sense of humor and really wants to get to know him better, beyond the whole mutant thing. Cinna also wants to help Victor, but as a friend and not as an adult with a project. Cinna was friendly with both Jean and Scott and got the impression from them that Victor and the other X-Kids aren't that big of fans of adults, so Cinna wants to tread that line carefully.

For those reasons, Cinna was beyond thrilled that Victor approached him about making new clothes for him. Cinna is completely serious when he says it was an honor to design things for Victor, because for Cinna it really was. Cinna has more design ideas (since throwing himself into his designs is how Cinna copes with things) for Victor, but he doesn't want to throw them at Victor unless Victor seems at least somewhat interested. Basically, Cinna wants to continue to get to know Victor and help him the best way he knows how, by supplying an increasingly awesome wardrobe.

I will get to relationship stuff shortly (yes, it is taking me forever!)! But you should totally tag her with Kurt. Jade's really close to Alani and wants to meet her friends, even those from other universes.
