[A few hours later-- she is a pro at this bus thing by now, tell you what-- Beatrice knocks on the door of Jade's apartment.]

[Jade had been impatiently waiting for Beatrice to arrive, pacing the apartment and stress cleaning her room. Jade knows it shouldn't be a big deal, but it's been so long since she's done something normal and invited a friend over (and she only calls Beatrice a friend tentatively) that she can't help but be nervous. She goes to open the door, forcing herself to look casual and not like she'd been stressed out for the last few hours.]

Hey! You made it. Sorry we live all the way out here.

[Beatrice shrugs, waving off Jade's apology. The smile she's got on looks a little forced, a side effect of being tired and out of practice at being pleasant on command.]

It's not like it's that far. Thanks for giving me an excuse to get out of the apartment.

[She returns the smile, a little less forced now that Beatrice actually showed up.]

No problem. I figured you could use a break.

You, uh, wanna head to my room?

Sure. [She looks around as she walks inside, taking in all the details she missed the last couple of times. Being Sad with Jack and picking Wirt up hadn't made for good opportunities to check out how they live.]
